How do I organize and analyze my contacts?

SendFox gives you several ways to organize and analyze your contacts — lists, advanced search, custom columns, and per-contact activity — so you can target the right people and keep your list healthy.

Organize with lists

Group contacts into Lists (Audience → Lists) so you can send to the right audience. A contact can belong to more than one list. See how to create a list.

On the Contacts page (Audience → Contacts), use Advanced Search to build segments — for example, contacts who opened (or didn’t open) a specific campaign. You can match all or any of your criteria, then act on the results.

Customize the columns you see

On a list’s contacts view, use the Columns control to choose what to display — Engagement, First/Last Name, Date Added, Source, Opens, Clicks, Referrals, and more — so you can scan and sort your contacts the way you want.

Analyze individual contacts

Open any contact to see their activity — the campaigns they were sent, what they opened, and what they clicked. Each contact also shows an engagement status (New, Engaged, Inactive, Invalid). See Understanding contact types.

Troubleshooting

My search isn’t returning who I expect

  • Check whether you set the search to match all or any of your criteria — that changes the results significantly.

A column I want isn’t showing

  • Open the Columns control and enable it; email is always shown and can’t be removed.

Frequently asked questions

Can a contact be in more than one list?

Yes — a contact can belong to several lists, and SendFox still stores them once per email.

How do I find inactive contacts?

Use Advanced Search or filter by engagement status to find contacts who haven’t opened recently. See contact types.

Can I act on many contacts at once?

Yes — on the Contacts page (Audience → Contacts), select contacts with the checkboxes to run bulk actions, such as adding them to a list or removing them from all lists at once.
