Resubscribe and Unsubscribe
SendFox lets you manually resubscribe or unsubscribe a contact right from your Contacts page. Here’s how each action works and what happens to the contact.
Resubscribe a contact
- From the top nav, open Audience → Contacts.
- Find the contact, open the dropdown menu next to them, and choose Resubscribe.
- Confirm in the pop-up. The contact is moved back to subscribed.

Important: only resubscribe someone who has given you permission. Resubscribing a contact without their consent can violate anti-spam and privacy laws (such as GDPR). SendFox is not liable for resubscribing contacts without consent.
Unsubscribe a contact
- Open Audience → Contacts.
- Open the dropdown menu next to the contact and choose Unsubscribe.
- Confirm in the pop-up.
Unsubscribing does not delete the contact — they stay on the list marked as Unsubscribed and simply won’t receive emails. To remove them entirely, choose Delete from the same dropdown.
Troubleshooting
Can I resubscribe a contact that bounced?
- No. Never resubscribe an address that has hard-bounced — it harms your deliverability. See Understanding contact types.
I unsubscribed someone but they’re still on my list
- That’s expected — unsubscribing keeps the record. Use Delete to remove the contact completely.

Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between unsubscribing and deleting?
Unsubscribing keeps the contact on your list as Unsubscribed; deleting removes them from your account entirely.
Do I need permission to resubscribe someone?
Yes — always have the contact’s consent before resubscribing them.
