Account & plans

What is SendFox and how does it work?

SendFox is an affordable, easy email marketing tool for creators and small businesses. You can build contact lists, create and send newsletters, run automated email sequences, and grow your audience with forms and Smart Pages — without the complexity of bigger platforms.

Full guides: SendFox’s key features and how to set up your account.

How do I set up and access my account?

Sign up with your email address (or Google), confirm your details, and add your contacts. Log in at sendfox.com/login. If you can’t get in, use Forgot Password to reset, or try a different browser or an incognito window. If you originally signed up with Google, request a password reset to switch to email/password login.

Full guide: How do I set up my SendFox account?

How do I change my account email address?

Go to SettingsProfile, enter the new address, and click Save changes. SendFox sends a confirmation link to the new address — click it while logged in to finish. Don’t log out until it’s confirmed.

How do I upgrade, downgrade, or cancel?

You can upgrade from SendFox directly or through AppSumo — there’s no need to cancel a free account, since you need it to activate a license. To cancel a monthly Pro subscription, go to SettingsPlan & billing; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. AppSumo purchases include a 60-day refund window.

Full guides: how to upgrade or downgrade a license and how to refund or cancel.

What plans and limits does SendFox have?

SendFox offers a Free plan, a one-time Lifetime deal ($29, 5,000 contacts), and a monthly Pro plan that scales as you grow (up to 250,000 contacts on the top tier, with Enterprise offering custom limits). Pricing is intentionally low — Pro starts at $19/month. To raise your contact limit, upgrade your plan.

Lists & contacts

How do I create a list and import contacts?

Create a list under AudienceLists, then use Import (from the dropdown next to the list) to upload a CSV or paste contacts. Use a clean, verified CSV of people who willingly subscribed, and remove invalid addresses first. SendFox has no one-click “merge lists” — export the lists, combine them into a single CSV, and import that into a new list.

Full guides: how to create a list and upload contacts, upload a CSV to an existing list, and switching from MailChimp.

How do I edit and organize my contacts?

Go to AudienceContacts, search for a contact, and click Edit to update their name, email, lists, and custom fields. You can filter by status or engagement and act on many contacts at once with the checkboxes.

Full guide: how to organize and analyze your contacts

What do contact statuses mean, and how do I handle bounces and invalids?

Contacts are Confirmed, Unconfirmed, Unsubscribed, Bounced, or Invalid. Campaigns only go to subscribed, confirmed contacts — bounced, invalid, and unsubscribed contacts are skipped. Keep your list healthy: verify addresses before importing (for example with NeverBounce) and remove bounced or inactive contacts regularly, since high bounce rates can trigger account Optimization.

Full guides: understanding contact types and what “Optimized” means.

If I upload duplicates, will I be charged for them twice?

No — SendFox de-duplicates by email address, so re-importing a contact updates the existing record instead of creating a new one. Duplicates don’t count twice toward your contact limit.

Full guide: duplicate contacts in SendFox

How do unsubscribe and resubscribe work?

Unsubscribed contacts stop receiving campaigns. They can resubscribe themselves — for example by submitting one of your forms or Smart Pages again — and you can also move a contact back to subscribed from their contact record.

Creating & sending emails

How do I create, send, or schedule an email?

Go to EmailsCreate Email, pick your lists under To, write your subject and content, then preview, send a test, and choose Send Now or Schedule for a specific day and time. Validate your domain first so emails send from your own address.

Full guide: how to create and send an email

Why didn’t my email go to everyone?

Usually one of three things: the Engaged only box was checked, your list has unconfirmed contacts (skipped until they confirm), or your account is in Optimization mode. Unsubscribed, bounced, and invalid contacts are never sent to.

Full guide: why aren’t my emails sent to everyone?

What is Optimization mode, and how do I avoid it?

SendFox automatically “optimizes” an account when performance signals slip — high bounce rates, spam complaints above roughly 0.1%, or consistently low engagement. While optimized, sends are limited to recently engaged contacts to protect your sender reputation. To recover, clean your list (for example with NeverBounce), remove invalid or inactive contacts, and email only people who explicitly opted in; you can send a cleaned CSV to support@sendfox.com.

Full guide: what does “Optimized” mean?

Can I resend an email to people who didn’t open it?

Yes — open a sent email, click its open percentage, and resend an (optionally edited) copy to non-openers.

Full guide: how to resend an email to non-opens

Can I send attachments?

No — SendFox doesn’t support direct attachments. Host the file (for example on Google Drive) and link to it with a button or link in your email.

Full guide: delivering an attachment or PDF via email

Can I personalize emails and make images clickable?

Yes. Type @ in the editor (or use merge tags like {{contact.first_name}}) to insert personalization, and set a fallback for contacts with no first name. To make an image clickable, select it and add a link URL.

Full guide: personalization tags

Can I edit the HTML of my email?

Edit HTML (at the top of the editor) edits the current email’s HTML on any plan. The monthly Pro plan also adds Code your own on the bottom toolbar for full document-level HTML. If you hand-code a full HTML email, include an unsubscribe link with {{unsubscribe_url}}.

Can I translate automation emails to another language?

SendFox doesn’t auto-translate emails. Write each email in your chosen language (you can use an external translation tool) before adding it to the sequence.

Automations

How do automations work, and what if mine isn’t sending?

Automations send a timed sequence of emails when a contact triggers them (for example, joining a list). Build and finalize the whole sequence before you start it: contacts only receive emails that existed when they entered the automation, and editing a live automation applies silently. If an automation isn’t sending, check that contacts entered after it was set up, that your account isn’t optimized, and that your bounce rates are healthy.

Forms & Smart Pages

How do I create and embed a signup form?

Create a form under GrowthForms, then copy the embed code into a custom-HTML block on your site (make sure caching plugins or script-stripping don’t interfere). SendFox forms work with WordPress and most website builders.

Full guides: how to create an embeddable HTML form and integrating SendFox with WordPress.

Can I send subscribers to my own page after they sign up?

Yes — set a redirect URL on your form (available on every plan), and new subscribers go to your thank-you page after submitting.

Full guide: how to create an embeddable HTML form

How do I create a Smart Page or use a custom domain?

Create a hosted signup page under GrowthSmart Pages. Your primary Smart Page answers at sendfox.com/yourname; on the monthly Pro plan you can also connect your own domain under SettingsSendingSmart page domain. Choose which page is primary with Make Primary.

Full guides: how to create a Smart Page and changing which Smart Page uses your URL.

Domains & deliverability

How do I validate my domain and change my From/Reply-To address?

Add your domain under SettingsSendingEmail domains and copy the three CNAME records SendFox gives you into your DNS (set them to “DNS only” if you use Cloudflare). Until you validate, emails send from mail@sendfoxmail.com; after validating, they send from your own address. You set the “From” address on each email, and the reply-to defaults to it.

Full guide: how to validate your domain

How do I improve deliverability (for example, Gmail’s Primary tab)?

Validate your domain, keep a clean and engaged list, and send relevant content. Ask subscribers to add your address to their contacts and to move your emails to the Primary tab. New accounts also ramp up sending gradually to protect deliverability.

Integrations & API

What integrations does SendFox support?

SendFox connects to WordPress, Zapier, and many other tools, plus a public API for custom integrations. API access — and anything that depends on it, like Zapier — requires a paid plan; the Free plan is API-locked.

Full guides: what integrations does SendFox have?, SendFox + WordPress, and does SendFox have a Zapier app?

How do I use the SendFox API?

Create a personal access token under SettingsConnectionsAPI tokens and send it as a Bearer token. The API is rate-limited (about 60 requests per minute); exceeding it returns temporary errors, and Free accounts get a “paid plan required” response. If requests fail, check your token and the specific error code.

Sending policy & account types

What kinds of emails are allowed?

SendFox is for permission-based newsletters to people who opted in. Its Terms of Service prohibit affiliate-only emails, spam, cold outreach, emailing individuals instead of lists, and content with consistently low engagement. Sticking to engaged, opted-in subscribers also keeps your account out of Optimization.

Does SendFox support multiple users or admin roles?

Not currently. If team access would help you, let us know through the in-app Feedback page.

Full guide: how to request a feature

Can SendFox generate personalized certificates?

No — SendFox is an email marketing platform, not a document or certificate generator.
